SpinW3 released

SpinW3, an updated computational tool for simulating spin waves is released. The most important capabilities of the new version are:

SpinW3 SpinW3 Simple Matlab interface to create complex spin Hamiltonians

  • linear spin wave solution to arbitrary single-k incommensurate magnetic structures and arbitrary magnetic cells

  • symmetry analysis of the spin Hamiltonian
SpinW3 SpinW3 Visualisation and calculation of magnetic structures with complex Fourier components and multiple propagation vectors (NEW)
  • visualisation and calculation of magnetic structures with complex Fourier components and multiple propagation vectors (NEW)
  • improved optimisation of magnetic structures (local updates, Luttinger-Tisza, simulated annealing and constrained optimization) (NEW)
SpinW3 SpinW3 Improved visualisation of spin Hamiltonians and exporting into vector graphics (eps) (NEW)
  • improved visualisation of spin Hamiltonians and exporting into vector graphics (eps) (NEW)
SpinW3 SpinW3 Fitting experimental spin wave spectrum (NEW)
  • fitting experimental spin wave spectrum (NEW)
  • integration with Horace (http://horace.isis.rl.ac.uk)
  • performance improvements (compiling some of the critical code into mex files is possible, caching intermediate results and removed all file I/O operation) (NEW)

The new version is tested to run on any Matlab version of R2012a or newer.
